You know, I've never really sat down and practiced lighting and shading.  And so I've never really had a working understanding of it, and it hasn't been that important before, but now that I'm trying to learn values for my painting style, I'm being handicapped by my lack of knowledge and it's become very obvious to me that I just don't know what I'm doing in that regard.

And so, I'm practicing it.
I'm going to do a series of pictures where I just have a character being hit by light and trying to get the light to look right.
